Jedi Consular Leveling Guide – 5 SWTOR Leveling Tips

I must say that I really enjoyed leveling my Jedi Consular. He has a great story and using the force and a light saber to do damage to your foes, is great fun. At lower levels, apart from the heroic quests, you won’t have any problems. I did find however that in the higher levels it may get a little confusing and not knowing the order of completing quests will sometimes frustrate you. That’s when I found this guide to be very useful as it allowed me to do the quests in the right order and not waste time running around a looking for the next thing to do.

I want to share with you a few tips that will make your leveling easier:

1. As a Jedi Consular you will get your Crowd control ability very early in the game. Be sure to use it often especially on groups where there are elites. It’s on a 60 seconds cooldown so and lasts 60 seconds so you can reuse if you need to.

2. Force management while leveling is very important as it renews faster the more you have it. So try to keep your resource above 50-75 % and you will have no downtime at all.

3. If you see other players that are not Jedi Consulars buff them. If they are cool they will buff you back and you can have 3 buffs on you all the time.

4. Although you have heal spell a few medpacks in your inventory and on your side bar can get you out of a sticky situation.

5. As soon as you get your second companion, while you are questing, send him on missions. This way you will level you crew skills much faster.

SWTOR Jedi Consular Leveling Build

If you want to wield a light saber and be a tank, dps or healer in Star Wars The Old Republic, the Jedi Consular is the right choice for you.

At level 10 you get to choose between the sage or shadow advanced class. the sage advanced class is a focuses on dps/healing builds while the shadow build focuses on tank/dps build.

Jedi Consular sages are long rage dps that use the force to damage their enemy or probably the best healers on the Republic side.  On the other hand Jedi Sage shadow built characters are good tanks and stealthy melee dps-ers.

So which advanced class should you choose for the fastest leveling? I’ve found that leveling as a sage specced in healing was the fastest. The dps difference between healing and dps builds is not that high.

Here’s the build at level 50.

What makes this build work well is the combination of you being a healer and your companion tanking. This combination is by far the most efficient as you will have little or no downtime and sustained dps. All you do is send your tank companion Qyzen Fess first (ctrl+1) and then heal him and do damage in between heals. You will be able to solo heroic quest easily.

With this build you will also get into flashpoint groups faster as healers are always in demand. Best Jedi Consular Leveling Companion Guide

As a Jedi Consular you get your first companion at the the end of your personal story on your home planet Coruscant. You will get 4 more on different planets while you level plus one droid on your starship.

Here’s a complete list of your companions:

Qyzen Fess - Melee tank, uses Heavy Armor and a Electrostaff or Vibrosword, +5 BioChem, +15 Archaeology

Zenith – Ranged DPS , uses Medium Armor and Sniper Rifle, +15 Research, +1 Critical Underworld Trading

Theran Cedrex – Ranged Healer/Techie, uses Medium Armor and a Pistol, +10 Cybertech, +10 Slicing

Lt. Iresso – Ranged tank, uses Blaster rifle, +2 Critical Armstech,+2 Critical Scavenging

Nadia Grell – Melee DPS, uses Light Armor and a Double blade Saber, +10 synthweave crafting +2 diplomacy crit

Which is the best leveling companion first of all depends on you play style. I have found out that the best companion is luckily the first one you get – Qyzen Fess. Especially if you play as a healer or dps he will hold the agro while you can slowly heal him or do damage. A healer build jc sage and Qyzen are unstoppable and this combo offers the least downtime while leveling. But I will say he is damn ugly! ;)
